The Trinity Evangelical Divinity School Placement Office

The Placement Office seeks to relate full-time church and other ministry openings with candidates, for the purpose of facilitating God's call to specific opportunities for our students and graduates.

Our Philosophy

Because of our understanding of ministry and the call of God, we do not approach placement as simply finding a job or hiring a staff member. Rather we think in terms of seeking God's will for His call to ministry in a specific setting. This involves both objective and subjective elements. TEDS can assist with some of these elements. Nevertheless, it is still the responsibility of both the candidate and ministry to pursue the mind of Christ in determining the legitimacy of the actual call.

In addition, TEDS takes what is called a fittedness approach to placement. This is in contrast to the broadcast or bulletin board approach. The fittedness approach seeks to prescreen candidates and ministry opportunities by matching profile characteristics and then recommending candidates to those seeking staff based on these coinciding characteristics.

This offers a number of benefits to our candidates and those seeking staff:

  • Saves time and energy for ministries reviewing candidate résumés and for candidates reviewing ministry profiles

  • Provides greater credibility to our recommendations

  • Provides greater potential for a long-term fruitful relationship between candidates and ministries
